Technical Review

Is your fire investigation unit in compliance with NFPA 1321? Section 8.2.4 requires all fire investigation units to include a technical review process for any fire investigation reports generated by the agency. These reviews are designed to ensure the findings of the fire investigator are accurate, properly qualified, supported by case records, and scientifically valid. It is best to have this review conducted by an impartial, third-party reviewer.

Pyrology understands that it can be intimidating to have your report reviewed by another expert. We strive to make every technical review a coaching opportunity. At the end of the day, we want fire investigators to succeed and feel confident about their report when it comes time to defend it in court.

We set ourselves apart by meticulously evaluating your case file and comparing it to the most current standard of care. This process allows us to identify any incomplete data sets and possible deficiencies. When possible, we will help you fill in the gaps with any applicable scientific research and supporting documentation. We make sure your conclusions are supported with sufficient data and are scientifically valid. After each review, you will receive a rubric from Pyrology identifying areas for improvement or showing that the report meets the standard of care. When we are done, you will feel confident that your case can withstand even the toughest opposition.
